In addition to a D.C. degree, Dr. McAlister was awarded his diploma in Clinical Neuroscience through the Carrick Institute for Graduate Studies in 2016. He is Board Certified in Neurofeedback (BCN) through the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance (BCIA), Board Certified in Quantitative Electroencephalography (QEEG-D) by the International QEEG Certification Board, Diplomate, American Academy of Pain Management, and is Board Eligible in Functional Neurology.
As a certified Global Neurofeedback Initiative Instructor (GNI) for Stress Therapy Solutions, Inc., Dr. McAlister teaches the BCIA didactic neurofeedback certification course, mentors clinicians working toward certification, and provides on-site consulting and training services. This has afforded him the unique opportunity to work with some of the top clinicians in Functional Neurology, Mental Health, and Medical Neurology/Epileptology throughout the United States and Canada. He was an invited speaker at the Veterans Administration War Injuries and Illness Study Group where they are currently working to implement QEEG and Neurofeedback into their program.
Additional certifications and training include Heart Rate Variability biofeedback (HeartMath), Interactive Metronome, and numerous chiropractic techniques, diagnostic modalities, and clinical procedures. This includes a course of study in Electromyography & Clinical Neurophysiology through Harvard Medical School, Department of Continuing Education. Dr. McAlister has also studied clinical nutrition and Functional Medicine extensively throughout his career and continues ongoing.
Dr. McAlister has been awarded citations from the NYS Senate, NYS Assembly, and NYC Council for his role in establishing the first Division of Chiropractic Services in a NY hospital making him among the first Chiropractors in NYS (and the country) to be granted hospital privileges. He has been featured on Fox News and CNN.
